Dánar is the founder and principal of The Adult Ballet Centre.
She trained professionally as a dancer at the age of 18 at London Studio Centre, graduating in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in Dance and Musical Theatre. Despite enjoying singing, acting and other styles of dance, Dánar’s main passion has always been within ballet, as she loves the technical side whilst at the same time, enjoying the beautiful music and expression of movement.
Dánar gained her PGCE + 60 Masters Credits in 2009 and began spreading her passion for dance through teaching in secondary schools. A few years down the line, her focus moved to 16 – 18 year olds and then Degree level students.
Having recently visited and taught in Australia, Dánar has now found her niche, and this is through teaching adults.
“How great is it to still have the opportunity to pick up an old hobby or try something new the older you get? Ballet is one of those arts which you almost have to appear young and completely agile to do. This is true at a professional level, but what about those who just want to dance for enjoyment? No pressure to get the steps perfect, no worries if you make a mistake – just somewhere adults of all ages, male or female, can come along, socialise, build their technique, zone out and enjoy. This is my aim, this is my passion and I’m so excited to share it!”
